Full description

Enjoy a full-day trip to the historic city of Alexandria and experience the remnants of a bygone era. After pickup from your hotel in Cairo or Giza, you’ll drive towards Alexandria, stopping along the way to use the bathroom and get a coffee. Upon arrival, start your tour of this ancient city. Head towards the marble-stone Roman amphitheater of Kom El-Deka that once accommodated over 800 visitors. Enjoy the sights of its pleasure garden and mosaic floored Roman baths and villas. Afterward, move on to the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa where you can feel the aura of ancient Egyptian, Greek, and Roman architectural excellence. The cemetery was constructed in the second century AD and is still one of the seven wonders of the middle ages.

Next, visit Pompey’s Pillar, the significant Roman triumphal column in Alexandria. Savor a delicious lunch from a local restaurant and then enjoy an outside photo stop at the Library of Alexandria, one of the largest and most renowned archives of the ancient world.

 

Later, visit the Citadel of Qaitbay, built above the ruined Alexandria lighthouse. At the end of the tour, you’ll be driven back to Cairo or Giza to be dropped off at your accommodation.

An excellent day. The pick up was prompt, the bus was air conned and the driver was super nice. The tour guide Heba was excellent and very informative on the history of the sites. It was the perfect amount of time in each place and the Cetiedil was the highlight. The restaurant chosen for lunch was also great. I had two tour booked by ocean travels via get guide and it was amazing without any hiccup . First trip was for Alexandria and sending one for old Cairo trip . The driver picked us up from our hotel . Sam is not just a person behind the wheel very knowledgeable and kind hearted person . He is the best we had in our whole Egypt trip . Our guide in Alexandria was very knowledgeable name Kamal on top he is researcher and Egyptologist . He took most of the place whiting the time and explain everything very humbly . Our next tour was pretty much the same but it was more fun even though I request them to drop us up after the tour to the airport they didn’t hesitate to organize it within the price frame . Also our tour guide Amir was very knowledgeable and he gave us nice tour along with the bazar and help us do the shopping in the heat . I really recommend this tour company and if I come back I will definitely use them again . Keep up the good work guys . Communication, transportation 10/10
