The journey provides an opportunity to see aspects of modern Cairo before reaching the ancient monuments of Giza.

The Great Pyramid of Khufu

Your first major stop is the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the largest and most famous of the Giza Pyramids.

Built during the Fourth Dynasty for Pharaoh Khufu, the monument remained the tallest human-made structure in the world for thousands of years.

Your Egyptologist will explain the pyramid's construction, religious purpose and place within the ancient Egyptian funerary landscape.

If your available time allows and tickets are available, you may choose to enter one of the pyramids at an additional cost.

Pyramid of Khafre and Pyramid of Menkaure

Continue across the Giza Plateau to admire the Pyramid of Khafre and Pyramid of Menkaure.

The Pyramid of Khafre is particularly recognizable because part of its original smooth limestone casing remains near the top.

The smaller Pyramid of Menkaure completes the principal pyramid complex at Giza.

Your guide will explain how these monumental structures were constructed and how the pyramids were connected to the wider funerary complex.

Great Sphinx

Continue to the legendary Great Sphinx of Giza, one of Egypt's most recognizable monuments.

The colossal limestone statue combines the body of a lion with a human head and is traditionally associated with Pharaoh Khafre.

Explore the Sphinx area and learn about its symbolism, construction and continuing mysteries.

Your guide will also explain the relationship between the Sphinx, the Valley Temple and the Pyramid of Khafre.

Grand Egyptian Museum

Important: The museum visit is subject to your available layover time. For shorter connections, we recommend focusing on the Giza Pyramids and Sphinx instead.

Egyptian Lunch

Your guide can recommend traditional Egyptian dishes such as koshari, grilled meats, falafel, tahini and other local specialties.

Because this is a layover tour, the lunch stop will only be included when sufficient time is available before your return to the airport.

Return to Cairo International Airport

After completing your sightseeing, your private driver will take you directly back to Cairo International Airport.

Your return journey will be planned according to your departure flight, allowing appropriate time for airport procedures and security.
